Villa Löhö is the last house on a dead-end road in Ahvenperä, on a flat 1,973 m² plot at the edge of the forest. Levi centre is 3.6 kilometres away and the nearest ski track is 400 metres. Near enough for a mid-afternoon return to the sauna. Far enough that you hear the trees at night.
Getting your bearings
Everything within twenty minutes
Levi is Finland's largest ski resort, and the whole village works at walking scale once you are in it. From the cabin you drive in, park, and forget the car for the day.
A cross-country track passes 400 metres from the door, and the area connects onward to the snowmobile routes. In good conditions you can put skis on at the cabin and not touch the car all day.
Distances are from the property documents. Driving times are ours, and generous — they assume winter roads.

Three ways to arrive

Fly to Kittilä
Kittilä Airport (KTT) is 12.4 km away — about fifteen minutes. There are direct flights from Helsinki all year and seasonal direct routes from several European cities in winter. Car hire desks are in the terminal, and shared transfers to Levi meet most flights.

Fly to Rovaniemi and drive
Rovaniemi has more flight options and is a straightforward two-and-a-quarter-hour drive north on good roads. It is a fair choice if the fares work better, and it gives you a car for the week.

Night train and car
The overnight train from Helsinki to Kolari takes you within about an hour and a half of Levi, and you can take a car on board. Popular in the ski season, so book early.
Winter driving, briefly
Roads around Levi are ploughed and well maintained, but they are snow-covered from November to April. Hire cars in Lapland come with winter tyres by law. Drive slower than you think you need to, keep your headlights on at all times, and watch for reindeer — they stand in the road and do not move for you.
Each cabin has a two-car carport with an electric car charger — a DEFA Power unit, 11 kW, Type 2, with a fixed six-metre cable — and there is a cleared gravel yard in front for more cars.
Arriving in the dark
In midwinter it is dark by mid-afternoon, so most guests arrive in the dark whatever time they land. We send directions with landmarks rather than just a map pin, the entrance light is on a timer, and the driveway is cleared before you arrive.
A delayed flight is not a problem. Check-in is self-service with a code, so you can arrive at any hour.

Levi is a working resort village, not a theme park. Everything below is a short drive from the cabin.
Slopes
Levi's ski area has runs for beginners and long blues for everyone else, plus floodlit slopes for the dark months. Lift passes, rentals and ski school are all in the village.
Fells and trails
Marked hiking and snowshoe routes start close by, and cross-country tracks run for hundreds of kilometres around the area. Summer trails lead up onto open fell in an hour or two.
Eating out
Levi centre has restaurants ranging from pizza and burgers to Lappish menus with reindeer and Arctic char. Book ahead in the high season, or cook at the cabin — most guests do both.
Shops and spa
Two supermarkets, an Alko for wine and spirits, sports shops for rentals and repairs, and a spa in the village if you want a pool as well as a sauna.
